Epsilon Aurigae Spectra

Spectrum of Epsilon Aurigae

by
Dale Mais
Blue is 12/10/2004 * (12/1/2004 V= 3.030
and 12/6/2004 V= 3.014)
Violet is 2/04/2005 * (02/3/2004 V= 2.963 and 02/6/2005 V= 2.960)

Equipment on a C-14

Spectrometer connected to a C-14 via flip mirror

Equipment
C-14 coupled to the SBIG spectrometer which has been modified slightly to have higher resolution gratings. The resolution of that particular spectrum was ~0.4A/pixel. I use an ST-109XME coupled to the spectrometer, and Vspec software.

" I had the possibility to observe eps Aur for some minutes last nights again. In the annex You find the results: the Ha-Lines as typical shell-spectra compared for 5 dates. You can see the variation of the intensities of the wings. The red wing is increasing, the blue one is decreasing with time."
