Epsilon Aurigae Campaign 2009/2011

Spectroscopy

How To Contribute Data

The campaign welcomes contributions of spectroscopic data of the epsilon Aurigae star system. These data will be included in our list of spectra for researchers to use, with your permission.

Data should be sent to Robin Leadbeater ( robin_astro@hotmail.com )

There are various ways you can submit data for inclusion in the list.

You can send us the spectrum profile as raw data (fits or dat file format) and we will store it and link it from your entry in the list of spectra.
AND / OR
You can send us a graphic of the spectrum profile (jpeg) which we will link from your entry in the list of spectra.

You can keep the raw data and/or graphic on your website and we will link from the list to your website.

Alternatively if for some reason you prefer not to make the data public at this time, (or you have not yet processed it) you can still give us the details of the spectrum you have taken and we will include it in the list with a contact link.

Please supply the following information with the data:

* Date and time of observation (UT) or JD
* Wavelength range covered
* Resolution (measured for example as FWHM on neon lamp or Telluric lines)
or alternatively Dispersion in angstrom/pixel
* Approximate Signal/Noise (measured for example in the line free continuum or calculated from the variability between multiple spectra)
* Your Web address if you want us to link to your spectra held there If you are not already a campaign member, please consider signing up or alternatively give us Contact details or a Home page to include with your spectrum

Notes for users of the data

Use of the data in for research purposes is encouraged subject the following conditions:

Any publication using these data should include a reference to the International epsilon aurigae campaign 2009-11.

The observers concerned should be contacted prior to publication to confirm the particular acquisition and data reduction procedures used.

Observers contributing a significant amount of data or whose data are pivotal to the findings of the paper should be included as co-authors.
