West Spruce - lightning caused, reported on June 24. Burning along the ridge of Spruce Mountain, the fire reached 1/2 acre. Engines and Airtankers secured the fire late yesterday evening. Crews will continue to monitor the fire today (25 June).

Prescott National Forest firefighters have been active in suppressing multiple fires across the forest. With limited resources available, Fire Management Officials has asked for additional resources to be staged on the Forest. "With predicted wind activity and heavy lightning activity the last few days, the Forest will stage 5-Type 6 Engines, 2-Type 2 Crews, and 2-Type 1 Crews for initial attack", said Fire Management Office Tony Sciacca.
